緊張大師的無間地獄（台灣翻作「蘿美雪妮黛未完成」）實在好看！
看完讓人熱血無比，好想拍片！
另外，這部被挖出來的影片不論劇情或拍攝手法都相當精采
沒完成真的是太可惜
而試圖讓這部片重現天日的導演
又以各種手法拼湊「真相」，試圖讓大家回到那個拍片現場
也堪稱一絕！

如果一日走四五場, 最尾一場遇著那種簡約或慢板的電影, 無論如何好看, 要撐到尾都是頗吃力的事, 在大腦窒息之前已被睡魔召喚過去~ =]

that’s too bad… let’s keep fingers crossed until they put up another orchestra-accompanied screening~ actually the restored version of “the red shoes” has been re-released on blu-ray last year, and the screencaps look stunning!

It is the Sinfonietta version which I would like to see. Actually, I went to Cultural Centre today to ask for ticket again but to no avail. Personally, I own a very blur version Metropolis and a digital restored version The Red Shoes DVD.

Thanks for your recommendation and I have bought the ticket for “Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Inferno” but it’s a pity that I can’t buy the ticket for Metropolis.

metropolis 和紅菱艷都是頂級佳作，但我個人會揀紅菱艷居多。

不是 metropolis 不好看，而是能夠重看 red shoes的復刻版的機會會比看阿根廷版的 metropolis 較少。

Actually Harun Farocki’s much acclaimed “In Comparison” is also “hidden” in the avant garde programmes (#IV)~ In the past years, avant garde programmes are mostly really obscure titles, but this year all four programmes look interesting~
To be honest, most films can be watched on DVDs or downloaded somewhere (or even watched online), but seeing them on the big screen is simply different~! This is especially true for Angelopoulos’ films which are mainly composed of really long shots~

Thanks for pointing out that A Letter to Uncle Boonmee is in the festival (I normally skip the Avant Garde section,). You can watch it at The Auteurs for USD$1 here, although of course it won’t beat watching it on the big screen. If you’re a fan of ‘Joe’ you should check out Mundane Histories, I’ve heard good things about it.

I’ll publish my picks on my blog soon, been mining the catalogue for the 2nd day and I’m still busy making my schedule! This year’s programme is definitely an improvement over last year’s- less populist/’uplifiting’ works, more well-reviewed works from known masters (although arguably this can make people less experimental in their choices), and several genuine retrospectives (i.e. films not readily avaliable on DVD). The thought of getting to watch Theo Angelopoulos’ epics on the big screen already makes me drool!
